Suggestions & Tips

Make sure that your wiring and circuit breaker is able to handle the amperage draw – usually 15 amps for the typical home or garage.

If installing a 220 volt unit, Do you have 220v service where you intend to use the compressor?

For smaller compressors it may be possible to use an inverter connected to an automotive battery for power, like carpenters using nail guns.

It is a good idea to use a combination water separator filter, and is a necessity if using the compressor for spray painting.

Water vapor condenses in the tank and needs to be drained periodically.

Air intake filters need to be checked and cleaned regularly.

Make sure the compressor you buy has enough flow capacity (cfm) for the tool you will be using it for.

Typical psi rating for a home unit will be 100 – 150psi.

If in doubt go for the larger capacity.

Air tools and spray painting require more flow (cfm) than something like a nail gun where the air flow is not on continuously.

Tank size is measured in gallons and is the air reservoir capacity.
