Air Compressor Uses

Around the House - There is a wide variety of  air tools to choose from to get your project done. One compressor will do the work quickly and economically.
A compressor can be used for many chores from keeping your car tires inflated, to blowing up things for the pool, or running air tools in the garage. Blowguns can be quite useful for cleaning out underhood of the car and other areas where debris collects.

Woodworking - No matter what your project is, you will find an air tool that will suit your needs. All of the major manufacturers offer staplers, nailers and air hammers used in everything from doing finish carpentry to building houses. Assembling cabinets and interior trim work is made so much easier with the help of air tools that after you have used them for a while, you wont know how you did without them. If you are doing roofing work or a deck, these tools are almost a necessity!

Mechanical and Metalworking - There are many types of air tools for use in the garage starting from small screwdriver sets all the way up to 350 foot pound impact guns for breaking loose stubborn and rusted lug nuts. Normally, a ½ inch 200-25- foot pound impact gun is plenty of power for the average backyard mechanic, and there are many affordable models to choose from. Air ratchets are very useful for lighter tasks like repairing lawnmowers and small equipment, or where you need to  spin on a lot of nuts or screws quickly. This will save a lot of time assembling that new shed in the backyard.

Painting - If you have a large painting task to be done, a compressor and spray gun may be the way to go. It is easy to apply paints and finishes with the right spray gun. The basic pressure feed spray gun is easy to use and there are also siphon feed guns for larger capacity paint reservoirs and house painting guns. HVLP (high volume low pressure) guns are also available use a lower pressure than regular guns and can reduce the amount of paint used, as well as minimize over spray.

Safety - Make sure that you read and understand the instruction manual that comes with your air compressor. It contains valuable information about care, use, and safety when operating the compressor. Also, moisture condenses in the storage tank of all compressors and must be drained periodically. If  it is allowed to remain in the tank too long, it can rust through from the inside and cause a potentially dangerous situation. Remember to always wear safety goggles when working with power tools and you will get many years of use from your equipment.
